Elder Creek Phase 4

Updates

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved advertising the project for construction bids on April 11, 2017. The project received seven bids on May 18, 2017. The County awarded the construction contract to the low bidder, Teichert Construction.

Background

The proposed project located west of Elk Grove-Florin Road and north of Gerber Road, will implement a portion of the drainage master plan for this developing area of Sacramento County.
The project will improve drainage and flood protection to existing structures and future development in addition to being a component in establishing an open space wetland and wildlife habitat preserve. Similar improvements are currently being constructed upstream of the project area.

Project Description

The existing creek will be widened, deepened, and sections of the alignment shifted along property lines. Subsequently, existing portions of the creek will be abandoned and backfilled. See the attached exhibit for details.
Disturbed areas will be hydroseeded at the end of the project. In Fall of 2019 a landscaping project will install trees along all sections of the improved creek.
